” Try to learn to breathe deeply,
really to taste food when you eat
when you sleep
really to sleep.
Try as much as possible to be wholly alive
with all your might,
and when you laugh,
laugh like hell.
And when you get angry, get good and angry.
Try to be alive. ”
— William Saroyan
The sentiment of these words has been my life anthem these past couple years. To be present, to not limit life with expectations or experiences with preconceptions. Letting go of what I am supposed to be or do or look like and allowing myself to simply **be alive** has completely changed my life; the way I love; the way I am able to be loved; the way I take on each day and the challenges they bring. So when I saw these beautiful words scribed by Chelsea Petaja, I made a quick impulse buy because the articulation here is perfect and now I get to look over while I work and be reminded continually to really—no REALLY—experience life.
Happy Monday to you all // xo.
